For this project, my goal was to create a 5x50 in composition including the word typography and the numerals 0 through 9 fused together via a figure in ground relationship. From my initial sketches, I knew that it was important to me to have the primary focus be a value transition from light to dark. With this project focusing on the gestalt principle of figure in ground, I also added the other principles of continuity and proximity to polish off the project and give it more sense of movement.
